Message
from the President
Dear colleagues:
As I begin my term as President of the Nonprofit Financial
Group for 2008-09, I want to thank Lindy Look and Barb Yanish, who together
have led NFG for the past three years, building on the work of Chris Knips, Joe
Keyes, and others who preceded them.
Since 1989, NFG has provided highly cost-effective networking, education
and professional development opportunities for people with financial
responsibilities in nonprofit organizations in the greater Minneapolis-St Paul
metropolitan area. We currently have over 200 members from a wide variety of
nonprofits and service providers and are looking forward to continued growth in
the year ahead as we build the value of NFG as a resource for our members.
I have benefited from being an NFG member for 15 years,
having found it a valuable development tool in my career as finance director
for a local charitable organization. The benefits of NFG membership that I have
found most valuable over the years are:
